Is it hard to believe that I live right next to Haiti and I haven't had the courage to face the reality that is heating our neighbors? Is it because of the press? Is it all the front-pages, the BBC live coverages or the incredibles stories of Anderson Cooper? In the mean while, not knowing why, I was feeling powerless, sending stuff that I couldn't see where they were going, or who was receiving them. Is awful the feeling of "abandoning harmless people" knowing that sometimes, you can do a lot for them.
We are going to Haiti to build 20 emergency houses for 20 families. I am not an engineer; I am what I am, a lawyer-flea pretending to know about humanitarian activism. Well, at least 20 houses will bring me back my sleep and definitely a huge smile.
